Photo Tips
Follow the rule of 3rds
If you’ve taken an art class in school yet you know that items look better when they are not centered perfectly on the page. By breaking an image into thirds, and then placing the horizon or subject matter of the image on those lines, your picture will have a lot more impact.
Framing
Windows, doors, trees, shadows; when it comes to framing your imagination is the limit. Framing can be a great way to make your key subject stand out. It can also make for great images that stand out alone without frame or matting. This makes them perfect for the internet.
Leading Lines
Use natural lines to lead the eye through your image. The goal is to get your viewers to look at the image as long as possible. And to lead the viewer’s eye towards your subject matter.
Make it POP!
Contrast is the state of being strikingly different from something else. In photography contrast relates to color. Look at the color wheel below. Colors opposite of each other are contrasting colors. When placed side by side these colors POP! Shadows and light also create contrast.
